Looking for artists to participate in a group critique weekly/biweekly. If interested please message Amanda Stiles. This will be to strengthen the group, not to put anyone down. So anyone involved, please act accordingly. I appreciate any participation, and look forward to seeing your work.

Regards,
Amanda Stiles

  • Sorry for the lateness, been busy busy. Anyhow. Anyone have any information re: The Blue Pomegranate Show? I was interested in this.

  • I have thought a great deal about Hot Shops. I know a couple of people involved in that, and apparently I missed out on the scholarships for free studio space. I have donated a great deal over the years to CASA, but sadly, never had any collectors come out of it. Maybe one that I can remember. Where is Dundee located? I applied last year for residency at the Bemis, but was not accepted. I will be trying to reapply here in the next week. Atleast then i would have somewhere different to work to assist in the creative process. Sometimes working from home becomes a bit redundant. Thank you for the information, I will certainly look into it.

    Cheers,

  • I’m pretty sure I qualify for your group. Art venues: Restaurants, coffee shops, churches, libraries are often possibilities. I’ve had art in all those places. Pizza Collective in Benson still does shows I think. And donating art to non-profit organizations when they have silent auctions is a way to get your work seen. Not much money in giving away art. I have had a few sales result from those donations, though. Small art galleries like Dundee, and bigger ones like Hot Shops or the Bemis are around, too.

  • So where do we begin…? I would like to know of a few places or venues in which we could put on shows free of charge. Back home, this was easy, they pretty much made themselves. Here, though, being new to town, I need to figure out who to talk to. Any ideas?
